Beautiful full moon

This was a beautiful full moon going down behind the Rocky Mountains this morning. I just happened to look out the window, and there it was. Glad I didn't miss it!

Perigee Moon

The Perigee Moon, or also known as the "Wolf Moon", according to Native American tradition.

Last night I was on my way home from a run when I saw this GI-NORMOUS moon coming up over the horizon. It was absolutely gorgeous!

This moon is 30% brighter and 14% larger than any other full moon this year because it is closest to the earth. Just a little FYI.

This moon was so bright that it looked like a big white blob on some of my photos.

The Fog

The fog creates this stark white frost on EVERYTHING! And when the sun starts to shine on it, it's absolutely stunning!

Freedom!

No wonder we use this beauty for our Nation's symbol! Just look at him!

I LOVE the way the light reflects on his feathers. He looks like he's frozen in the air. THIS ONE IS ANOTHER FAVORITE!

This would have been PERFECT if the phone pole hadn't been in the way! But still, a great shot.

Flying away (over mounds AND mounds of prairie dogs!)

Patriotic Theme

My oldest son Ryan is a United States Marine. When he was deployed to Iraq in 2007 I had this Yellow Ribbon tied around my tree in our front yard. Very humbling.

This is my youngest son Jack. This photo was taken in September 2007 right after Ryan deployed for the 1st time to Iraq.

Nothing like the sun shining right through the American Flag!

This is a beautiful monument that is erected in the small town of Mead, Colorado. The statement says it all!

I just can't wait another minuter to post these...

Once again, at the right place at the right time! I don't believe in coincidences or "luck". I believe if you want something bad enough, you can have it. All of this started just a few weeks ago, and now it seems where ever I go WITH MY CAMERA, I find something grand.

I think he is becoming annoyed with me. :) I'm pretty sure it's the same one I've seen in this area of town.

So majestic...

There are no words in the English language to describe how I felt when I uploaded this photo to my computer. This one, so far, is my FAVORITE!

"You not gonna spank MY bum!"

Need I REALLY say anymore about this!? Now, it is only fair to say that I didn't take this with my awesome Nikon. This photo was taken when Jack was 2 yrs old. We were at a Christmas concert for Isaac and NATURALLY Jack just couldn't control himself. Dan told him if he didn't stop talking and sit STILL, he would take him in back and "spank his bum". He looked Dan right in the eyes and said (all the while I am anticipating a great photo opportunity), "YOU NOT GONNA SPANK MY BUM!" Enough said. This deserved it's own post!

He's got.........PERSONALITY!

This first one just says it all. What else can I say?

He was mad at me for taking SO MANY pictures.

This could be a cover story for SOMETHING. What? I don't know yet.

"Just Jack!"

Rocky Mountain Sunrise

These were taken on the morning of January 21st. This time I had my camera set on the "Sunset" setting. Totally different dramatics here.

I just LOVE these! The Rocky Mountains are PINK! This was also at sunrise on January 21st.

Here you can see Mt. Meeker and Longs Peak.

I'm a Black and White kind of gal

I took these photos for Jack. Jack is 6 and loves playing guitar. His room is Rock N Roll mode, so I thought I would take these and blow them up for some "pizazz" for his wall in his bedroom.

Totally Random!

Now these, like I said are TOTALLY random. This was just a few days after I got my new camera. My favorite one is the last one. My camera has this great feature on it for "white on white". But the contrast of the iron AND the shadows on the side of the house. Lots of drama in that one. I like drama! ;)

Change of Pace Here

Woke up one morning (January 14th to be exact) and noticed a beautiful sunrise...7am SHARP! Grabbed the camera, went out on the front porch and *WALLAH*!! I didn't remember the sky looking THAT amazing with MY eyes. Cameras can do wondrous things!
